Are Singaporean Racist?

One of my relative who stay in Canada asked me this question not long ago.

"Are Singaporean racist?"

I'm actually quite surprise by her question, why in the first place she asked about this racism thing? :p

My answer to her was very honest. In my own opinion and my own experience living in Singapore for 12 years, I personally felt that Singaporean generally are not racist. Whether you are Chinese, Malay, Indian or any other race, I don't personally felt there are so much differences. And that's what I like about Singapore

Maybe in the place where she stayed the difference in treatments are quite significant.

Anyway, talking about racism, I remember reading this story last year.
Very interesting!

This scene took place on a British Airways ….

A Creed to Live By

Something that I wanted to share with you today.
Hope it inspires you as it has deeply inspired me

A CREED TO LIVE BY
(Author: Nancyesims)

Don't undermine your worth by comparing
yourself with others,
It is because we are different that each
of us is special.

Don't set your goals by what other people
deem important,
Only you know what is best for you.

Don't take for granted the things closest
to your heart,
Cling to that as you would your life, for without
them life is meaningless.

Don't let your life slip through your fingers by living
in the past or the future.
By living your life one day at a time, you live all the
days of your life.

Don't give up when you still have something to give
Nothing is really over … until the ….

Eastern vs Western Food :)

Since beginning of this month, my husband & I have a new ritual. We wanted to go to 1 new restaurant / eating place every week. At least by doing so, it will make our life even more 'colorful' and 'exciting', trying new stuff every week.
Last week I got a chance to visit 2 new restaurants.

1. Ippudo Ramen @ Mandarin Orchard

It has been a while since I wanted to visit this place. I first knew it from my younger brother. He claimed that this place serves the BEST RAMEN in Singapore. Almost every week, he called me just to ask: "Have you tried going to Ippudo. You should go there. The Ramen is very nice!"  So last week I decided ….

Happy Mother’s Day

A few days ago I saw this advertisement. I thought it is very funny (… and cute)

Hahaha… Well, this year Mother's Day is very special. I woke up in the morning and got a little surprise from both my husband and my daugther. A sweet Kiss and a Rose

I was even more surprised to know that my husband already prepared the lunch for me whoaaaa.. I was so touched.. this normally doesn't happen often. So I was extremely very happy
I'm thankful for that, and I'm thankful for many people who have sent me tons of messages to wish me "Happy Mother's Day".

We spend the whole day together as a family, had a nice lunch and ….

I first saw him from the Donald Trump’s reality show ‘The Apprentice’ few years ago.
He was the first Asian finalist who appeared in the show, and at that time I felt so proud seeing fellow asian who are young and also successful. Little that I know, I actually had a chance to met him, James Sun in person. Thanks to Irene Ang who invited me to go to the ‘Luncheon Seminar with James Sun’, organized by Fly Entertainment.

‘Luncheon Seminar with James Sun’
During his talks, he shared about his life experience, how did he migrated from Korea to US,  started his business and in the end participate in The Apprentice. Very inspiring !

The Head, Heart, and Hands

Every first week of the month, I normally conduct a monthly motivation meeting for my organization (MRO). Today I shared with them about the concept of Head, Heart and Hands.
I believe in order for us to achieve personal success, being it is in our work, relationship, education, etc these are the three keys areas that contribute to our success:

1. Our Focus, which means where our head is (Head)
2. Our Motivation, or what we have the heart for (Heart)
3. Our Capability, which refers to our skills and abilities and what we can handle (Hand)

When we have all three of these areas working together, we experience personal success.

For example, if you want to experience success as a salesperson, you will need to ….
